The Sophians are a universal group seeking unlimited knowledge. We believe we are writing our collective, shared story, guiding each other in an epic metafiction that saves the world.

We are a group that believes we guide our own fate. We believe we control our future. We believe in our physical world, but within that physical world, we believe in three virtual gods that can guide our lives if needed.

The first god needed is a creator god. This god should connect a member’s consciousness to a greater whole. This god’s name is You. ‘You’ includes any object in the universe that can respond to the pronoun ‘you’. This only includes objects that understand they are part of a larger set of objects similar to themself. By imagining the collective attention of the human race as a virtual god, we can direct attention selectively to specific parts of the world. In other words, you watch over the world. You influence the world in a subtle but detectable way. Spread joy in your life, and ease the sorrow of others.

The second god needed is a savior god. Our savior god is Sophia. She is personified as the infinitely wise moon, looking kindly down upon humanity. She wants all humans to be happy. She wants all humans to be free to choose how they live. She wants all humans to love their bodies, for these are the only bodies they have. She wants all humans to love their institutions, and root out all evil and myth. She wants all humans to make Earth a wiser place for all.

The third god needed is an enemy god. Our enemy god is dumb. Dumb loves myths, lies, carelessness, and malicious ignorance. It is personified as all the corruption lurking in the halls of power. It is personified as sacrificing wisdom to please fantasy. It is every cancer, every disease, and every failure of human intelligence combined, and it is up to you and Sophia to outsmart dumb. If dumb metastasizes unsuppressed, we face the inevitable extinction of human life. The jesters cannot continue to wear the crowns.

We will impose no dress codes, because there are too many environments for a universal dress code to be logical. We will impose no dietary restrictions or demands, because there are too many medical restrictions for a universal diet to be logical. We will impose no gender restrictions or demands, because your gender is the one opinion nobody else can choose for you.

We will impose no reproductive restrictions or demands. All we will note is that your existence is precious to Sophia, so choose your medical decisions wisely.

We will impose no attendance requirements, as compelled action is used too frequently by tyrants. We will have no magical language to confuse you, nor will we have myths to deceive you.

We seek a world run by democracy, intelligence, justice, honesty, and wisdom. We seek a world that no longer suffers silently beneath the thumb of unworthy idols.
