3. Vacation

Fire in friendship. Youth in abundance,

waning so wonderfully slowly.

Pearlescent skies that glide over

monochromatic beaches;

gritted toes with gritty feet

and sand to wear the skin smooth.

We’re so fully in love forever.

Sunsetting photons, like hammers,

shattering against aluminium windows

burning the condominium pools into clouds

in a nectarine heaven.

Tangoing with a wonderful,

beautiful person:

dancing with life,

with liberty,

and with happiness.

5. Magnum Opus Deo

Awakened and forming memories, you touch your own skin for the first time.

To be honest, to be human, it’s divine, but new things bury that memory under dust.

By now that mosaic has been overwritten perfectly; it waved goodbye and turned the corner,

its shadow fading down the walls of living hallways.

Youth is a time in life where everything’s the truth no matter who says it to you.

Youth is a time when you never said anything but lies to your family and neighbors and friends,

when all your horrible stories were boring and filled with feeble exaggerations.

Youth, a craven habit!

Suckled upon until adulthood when life kicks all your baby teeth out

and structure is your new pacifier.

Maturity is rejecting your friends so that you don’t have as much fun, because having fun was so stupid back then.

You’re not stupid now, so you sit down and mute your phone and go do something

totally, hypnotically boring the whole night.

Because you’re not the you that you once lived like, you’re not much like that anymore.

Crises are the times when your clock ticks you off, and in a rage you try to fight your age away.

The crisis is knowing it’s not working.

Respect your environment: continually remind yourself that it’s protecting you, so vice versa.

Be of good cheer. You’re in heaven, because you exist, and existence is beautiful.

Old age is you, staring directly at whatever’s in your hand and thinking aloud “How did I not die?”

All those years where fires raged and trees fell and lightning struck, where tornadoes fled the scene,

and feeling an earthquake for the third time and knowing ‘this is not going away’.

Memories of pools and streams where lifeguards never seemed to be and panicking for air that one last time;

so how did you survive?

And why didn’t they?

Started with a friend that didn’t come home from the hospital and casually graduated into closer relatives,

with a special pain for those that left nicks in your heart when you heard they died.

Does nothing inherently make us special, and are we just slaves to the juggernaut

if not making double our money each year?

How can any commoner measure up to such expectations?

And fading, fading is a state of mind where you stop feeling your skin and muscles,

and the only response you muster is ‘Huh.’

Sometimes lightning strikes a chord of rods in your mind that shimmer people back to life you once knew as a child,

who strike up a pleasant conversation with you and their words become a lullaby reminding you to stop breathing

and death is just the act of you saying “okay

7. All You Did

We love you Mom, we love you Dad
We thank you for the lives we've had
What comes will come, what is will be
To what we're blind our kids will see

I pray I calm the worried mind

From all the harried tasks of life

To bring my friends the joy they need

"But sorrows go, so hold no strife."

We're building our utopias to

Build our special way to truth

By spreading dreams to all our friends

And breeding thoughts inside our youth.

And as we people often wander

As is needed, as we should,

Hold your friends, then memories

And know that all you did was good.

9. Thank You

Thank you, everything you do is amazing

Thank you, for showing me how to thrive

Without you I wouldn't know what to do

Stumbling blind cause I play the fool

But you came up to me with open eyes

Now I know the joy it means to be alive

So thank you, you can feel inside me is racing

Thank you, I’m feeling finally fine

You gave me the reason not to screw

Up the one life that I share with you

I just want to give you peace of mind

That thanks to you, we’re living in good times

Thank you, in your head is a good soul

Thank you, you’ve acted fairly and kind

I think the point of what I'm trying to say

Is with a plan we can be okay

Are you ready for some happy times?

Oh, the simple joy of knowing that you're mine.

15. To Fly

Good minds are seeing the world as a dream

Great minds can see all the world in a beam

The greatest then shape it as good as can be

The greatest of thinkers, like you and like me.

Never ashamed of the progress we made,

Never dissuaded by blocks in the way.

Never distracted by public displays

That push on us virtues of living afraid;

Afraid of the people who don't look like us,

Afraid of the shape of our body and bust,

Afraid we are lonely, afraid of our lust,

Afraid there is nobody honest to trust.

Good are the minds who live fair and live kind

Great are the minds who detect when we lie.

The greatest of these are the honest, who try

To grow your lost wings back, then teach you to fly.

16. Ocean to Ocean

You are my heart, and you are my motion

May we never part, living lives with devotion

To our highest ideals, in our dreams that are real

As we pass over ocean to ocean

Holding hands so warm, and doing no harm

To our angels in heaven together

As your tender charms melt in my arms

I just want to love you forever

And if we part, you know my heart

Is filled with exploding emotions

Goodbye, my love

May the heavens above

Remember our little commotions

Can I stress it enough of the fact

That I always will love you?

Can I point out before our first act

I just wanted to hug you?

You made me feel so brave

And pulled me from the grave

I'll live with you one day

In the heavens above you

19. Birthday

You've gone around the sun again

And celebrated youth.

You've gained in love, in fun and friends

And added to the truth

That guides the hearts of all of us

And gave to us the proof

That love is real and never ends

And always will improve

The lives we live in subtle ways

And ways we wouldn't see

If you had never been the grace

We needed to believe

That all our lives are but a play,

Each life is but a scene.

Our love directs our hearts each day

And guides us toward our dreams.

I celebrate your tenderness,

Your beauty and your mind:

Continuing to grow and bless

The hope we need to bind

Our families and all our friends

Eternally in time,

The universe, in one caress

Believes in the divine.

Though we may fail to pass the test

And though we often falter,

Your presence burns inside our chests

And may it ever alter

The flaws we have into the best

Our short lives have to offer:

I want to make you ever-blessed

And greet you at the altar.

23. Sounds of Sadness

Hello, moon, our oldest friend.
We’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision you le-eft creeping
In our minds that we we-ere seeking,
And the vision that you
Planted in our brains
Still remains
Within the sounds of sadness.
Down restless streets we walked alone
Afraid of chaos we had sown.
Beneath the halo of your shining face,
We poured our hope into the human race
When our eyes were stabbed
By the flash of your neon light
That split the night
And touched the sounds of sadness
And in the naked light we saw
All of the people, maybe more
People finally freely-y speaking
People finally freely-y listening
People writing songs that
Voices freely shared
We all dared
Disturb the sounds of sadness
“God” said we, “You do not know
Sadness like a cancer grows.
Hear our words that we mi-ight teach you
Take our arms that we mi-ight reach you”
But our words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of sadness.
And we the people bowed and prayed
To our neon god we bade
And the god flashed out i-its warning,
"Why are you voluntarily warring?"
And the god said “The
Words of your sorrows
Are written on my hallowed
Walls! I heard them all!”
She whispered, "Your sounds of sadness."

So all the people had to know

Which way for every path to go

Love all others who are kind to you

But make sure no one ever lies to you

For the truth blinds the myth with our

Enlightened, focused minds

And empties our wells of sadness.

25. No Myth At All

We can live our life with no myth at all
No myth at all, No myth at all
We can live our life with no myth at all
No myth at all, No myth at all
Look at me, look at me
Hands in the air like it's good to be
Alive!
And I’m a decent person,
Even when the paths are all crookedy
We can show you how to self-control
We can show you how to live protected
We can take apart all the mind control
And we can almost make it all connected
We can tell you where the Earth has been
We can tell you about the State we're in
We know all the words to "Hallelujah"
And we're all proud to be on the way to win
Me and my friends found a
Me and my friends made a better book
And guess how long it took
We can do anything that we want cause, look
We can keep the peace with no gun at all
No gun at all
No gun at all
And we can see the past is no fun at all
No fun at all
No fun at all
Look at me
Look at me
Just called to say that it's good to be
Alive!
In such a new world
We’re all curled up with a book to read
We can make money open institutions
We can make a living off of growing seeds
We can design an engine
That’ll never see a single drop of gasoline
We can make new antipsychotics
We can make computers survive exotic conditions
We know how to shun religions
Who can make you and your mind a product
Thinkers, makers and producers
Me and my friends understand the future
We see the strings that control the systems
We can do anything with your assistance
Cause we can lead a people with a microphone
With a microphone
With a microphone
And we can fuse the atoms of a molecule
Of a molecule
Of a molecule
Look at me
Look at me
Thriving and we won't stop
And it feels so good to be
Alive and on top
Our reach is global
Our tower secure
Our cause is noble
Our power is pure

We will hand out a million vaccinations
Won't let 'em all die in exasperation
Have 'em all healed of their lacerations
Have 'em all kill the procrastinations
We can make anybody go to heaven
Just because we still like 'em and
We can do anything with your permission
We have it all under our command
Because we can guide our leaders by satellite
By satellite
By satellite
And we can see existence through a better hope
Through a better hope
Through a better hope
And we can join the planet in a holy cause
In a holy cause
In a holy cause
In a holy cause
In a holy cause
In a holy cause
We can live our life with no myth at all
No myth at all
No myth at all
We can live our life with no myth at all
No myth at all
No myth at all

26. Alliterative Acrobatics

All alliterative acrobatics are amazing!
Apply acidic aspirin, an art attack abating.
Backwards boneheads bastardized by bellowing
Bedouins breeding broken bylaws bedeviling
Con-men currently controlling creativity
Confabulated calumnies cue cancerous complacency.
Don't demonize dancing, dykes or decadence,
Drown diluted doctrine due diabolic deference
Each errant ectoplasmic evanescent enemy
Erodes efforts edifying ever-present empathy
First, fix failing foolish fatuous fads
Forcing friendly fire for financiers' flags
Get grassed! Go grow God's green governance
Groovy golden geese gobsmacking global governments
Have happy haters hurt heaven-heeding humans,
Heroin heroines hoisting hefty hubris?
If ideas indicate introverted influence
Ideal isolation identifies intelligence
Jesters justifying jurisprudent journalism
Joining jocular jests jawing jester's jetsam
Krokodil kings kamikaze kakistocracy
Kaisers keep knights' kevlar, killing kleptocracy
Lasses leading on lustful liars’ longing
Languishing life's little lodestone lightening
May men mock monstrous mandatory meaning
Memento mori marking microcosmic meetings
Neat needles nestle new narcotics into neophytes
Nearing neighbors naff nirvanas into nested neon nights
Overdose on opioids of occidental oversight
Obviously obfuscated on occlusion overnight
Pandering plutocrats plunder pusillanimous
Pale-faced patriarchs, pained, pleading "Pardon us!"
Question? Quick query qualifying Quakery

Queuing quality quaaludes quantifying quackery

Regarding restarting reduced responsibility
Rather rustling rumored reprehensibility
Salacious suckers selling souls, soothing Satan
Sacrificing saints so suits sleep in satin
Terrifying treatment tainting true tautology
Trusting terrible tenants tipping toward theology
Unique universal underdogs upset
Unqualified Ur-men usurping UNICEF
Viciously vacuuming victims' valuable
Varicose veins via voluptuous vampires
We will wear weak, wan wordless winces
Weathering wastelands working whack wickedness
Xenu, Xanadu, extricating xylophones
Xeroxing excessive execrable xenophobes
Yonder youth yearning younger yuppie yesterdays
Yelling your yodels, yes, ytterbical yeasayers
Zef zoomers zipping past Zoroastrian zeniths
Zeroing zaggy zoned-out zombified zealots!

27. Hallelujah

We've heard there was a secret word
That we could sing that would save the world,
But you don't really believe in magic, do ya?
It goes like this, it's being missed
The secret's out, so here it is
The magic, secret word was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Our faith was strong but we needed proof
We saw her gazing on the roof
Her beauty, and her moonlight moves right through ya.
She gave to us this hopeful song
She made us know our right from wrong
And all that's on our tongue is Hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

We're sorry we've been hurt before
We walk the halls of killing floors
We used to live alone before we knew ya
You've seen our flags on the marble arch
Love is not our victory march
It's a bold and it's a knowing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

There came a time when we had to know
What's really going on below
Now we know we're going to show it to ya
As you let her wisdom move in you
Her holy love is moving too
And every mind she blew sang Hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

We know that there's a God above
And all she's ever learned from love
Is how to conquer tyrants who abused ya
It's not our cries you hear tonight
It’s just somebody who's seen the light
Who gained their only life, so Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

We did our best, it wasn't much
So in her wisdom we did trust
Her institution isn't going to fool ya
She wants to teach us how to grow
Expound on every story known
And every mind that's blown sings Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!

29. Live a Life Imagined

Live a life imagined, live like you please
And live a life of hope and light then everlasting peace
Little human people loved this earthly place
And built it things and made it nice
And fixed in time and space, oh

Live a life imagined, live like you please
And live a life of hope and light then everlasting peace
Live a life imagined, live life serene
And live a life where at the end your life is but a dream

Together they had wandered on hope that couldn't fail
People kept their heaven close held up by precious tales
Of noble kings and princes and queens of hero's fame
Evilness would hide its head when people called its name, oh

Live a life imagined, live like you please
And live a life of hope and light then everlasting peace
Live a life imagined, live life serene
And live a life where at the end your life is but a dream

Now heavens live forever but not so mortal joys
Heaven's perfect music fades into a ragged noise
And soon enough it happened little people dreamed no more
This place of love and happiness was made forever poor
So bow a head in sorrow as tears relieve the pain
Of losing them so you can live a happy life again
As living humans die, we must all be brave
Or otherwise our heavens’ lives will slip into their grave, oh

Live a life imagined, live like you please
And live a life of hope and light then everlasting peace
Live a life imagined, live life serene
And live a life where at the end your life is but a dream

31. Live To Be Kind

A wonderful person, a wonderful place

A beautiful life at a beautiful pace

Incredible scenes with incredible tastes

Impeccable rooms at impeccable rates

Exemplary love for exemplary fates

A boldness in lovers for boldness on dates

Delicate touches on delicate lace

A monochrome moon on a monochrome face

Entangled in bedsheets, entangled in time

Besotted with love and besotted with wine

Intoxicant kisses, intoxicant rhymes

Light-headed laughter on light-headed climes

Songs for our voices, songs for our times

Feeling so happy and feeling so fine

Loving our bodies and loving our minds

Live to be honest and live to be kind

35. Be Believed

Varicose pains spiderweb their ugliness when you slap someone else or yourself in the legs and arms and hidden places where the skin doesn’t show and know that day to day, you just might start to learn to love the bruises. Face your attacker with either love or self-destruction, hoping love is the only function your loved one chooses as an option, praying in church but not saying it hurts to the ones who would work to the ends of the earth just to give you the breath that you breathe, you are worth it to those that you need, in today you still need to believe, the seed of every tomorrow received, since in the end it's the reason we grieve, that is the reason we need to bereave.

Idle pastimes are the last times of asinine bystanders with no standards for being pandered to by slanderous gerrymanderers, eclectically electing to disrespect elections, expecting dissections of ethical ascetics, this treasonous pathetic rhetoric emphatically peddled with quintessential etiquette since their vets have already vetted it. So instead stand and demand the remandment of cankered commandments staring askance at this chance of advancement. End blandishing romance at unethical bandits bandying rancid tangents in rants of insanity handing you panic as plans we can’t manage. Scan the planet for sanity, take my hand as we expand on humanity, stealing reality from those selling banality and improving the quality of what’s seen in society. Tell me your secret dreams, tell me of better things that should now be happening, serving us happily. We need to have seen what you’re scheming so we can be teaming with geniuses, teeming with serious themes for the scenes we all see ourselves receiving. Believe in these and be believed that things we were dreaming forever have meaning.

36. Complacency

Complacency is evolution’s easiest route to extinction.

Live life or live lies behind ever scaling eyes, feasting each night as one human, and knowing it’s all yours, gorge. Forge checks and find balances to correct bounced checks and imbalances.

We drown in detachment, so grow social gills or cease with hermetic zeal! Feel real, reeling from stem to heel, STEM stemming from stems put to the test by besting any pestilence festering from inept untestable jests. Confess when necessary, but never truly expect the truth from others. Celebrate truth.

Do not fail to remember that you live on the spines of others, and each spine makes you richer!

Skydive alone once more, hope you did this right, because if you didn’t...; or instead have a friend with breath and breadth, hope and rope, who packed your sack whom you have trusted and who has shown you trust back, saying ‘I love to slow your fall. I will always slow your fall.’

49. The Man on the Mountain

Once upon a time there was a man who lived alone

Who caught his food and kept a simple shack.

He had a dog and hunted game and stayed inside his home

And thought that there was nothing that he lacked.

He moved away from humankind when he was twenty-one

To find the solace that we often seek,

And when his search was over he had fled from everyone

Inside a hut upon a snowy peak.

He saw the world when he was young and nothing touched his heart

For all the world he thought he truly saw;

He thought survival was his work and trapping game his art

And those who were unlike him must be flawed.

So after living forty years inside his humble shed

He heard a rumble shiver through the floor.

He recognized the sound but thought it nothing he should dread

Until his dog then bolted out the door.

He grabbed his knife, slid on his shoes and followed her outside

To look for panicked tracks in powdered snow

Which led him from the house he knew, in hopes that he would find

His dog and bring her safely back to home.

He yelled her name while listening for any sound of bark

While running through that forest he knew dear

But shadows from the trees were long, the sky was getting dark

And noise drowned out his cries, now filled with fear.

While roaring thunder filled his ears, he quickened up his pace

And trudged away from all he’d ever known:

This wall of snow exploded through his house and laid to waste

The only house this man had ever owned.

The cloud of cold then struck his back and knocked him on his face

And wrecked his only way to find the pup,

But after all the carnage, he still tried to find a trace

Of footprints that the snow had covered up.

He asked for strength, then quickly fled to where he knew to go

A shelter just to make it through the night,

And there he huddled in a cave of ice and rock and snow

And hoped his dog would somehow be alright.

He built a little fire made from branches cut outside

And lit them with the flint and knife he had

To melt some snow he piled in his coat he’d made of hide.

He drank, and for one moment he was glad.

He piled on more wood and built the flames to keep him warm

And as he laid to sleep he gently cried

For all this time he thought his dog was surely being harmed,

Him staying here meant she would not survive.

When he awoke next to the ash that branch and flint had made

And saw he had survived the snowy night,

He knew the way to find her and that way was being brave

By stepping out into the blinding light.

He bundled up and thought of how his dog had, years ago,

Gone hunting in the valley just to eat

Since in that year his traps had only snared a single doe

But rabbits in the valley were replete.

He started making haste to find this valley where his pet

Would surely find some food on which to live

And, looking one last time where his house was, he felt regret

And wondered if this loss he would outlive.

The trees were thick and snow was deep as he then made his way

Believing he would see her once again.

His dog was more than just a creature that could hunt and play

For she was both his family and his friend.

He saw no tracks for dogs but plenty made by birds and hares

And starving, made a branch into a loop

Then filled it with fresh leaves he knew a tree could surely spare

Whose branch was later made a rabbit’s noose.

He dined upon the rabbit's meat without the aid of fire

Then looked at shadows cast, by which he knew

Which way that southern valley was, the valley he desired

And hope for his reunion was renewed!

The hike was rough, his feet were soaked, but through the brush he saw

A distant patch of forest painted green,

And though his legs were weary and despite his fingers raw

It was a beauty like he’d never seen.

It grew and grew as snow then thinned beneath his aching heels.

For forty years he hadn’t left the mountain.

And in the distance, he could barely tell if it was real,

His blessed dog was swimming in a fountain!

Then overjoyed, he felt the warmth of wondrous valley sun

And grass on which those rabbits must have dined.

He then removed his shoes and then he found the strength to run

To marvel at a place that seemed divine.

His dog jumped from the pool and then she saw her master’s smile

And shaking off the water, barked with glee.

He said “I think that we should stay here just a little while,

Where we can both be happy and be free.”

He noticed that the fountain was a masterwork of stone

With women carved into its centerpiece,

All smiling like they're saying, “You’re no longer all alone

So rest your weary head and be at peace.”

His heart had ached for sweet relief from stress he had accrued

That melted as he soaked in waters clear

Which eased the stress and loneliness, and made him feel renewed:

His life no longer something he would fear.

He built a house from boughs and leaves beside the fountain’s edge

And stayed there the remainder of his time.

He thought of his regrets and then he made a simple pledge

To not regret what led to life so fine.

As for his shack, he did outlive what seemed like cruelty

When in the moment life did not seem fair;

But if he changed a single thing about what came to be,

He never would have breathed that summer air!

So, with his dog he lived his days well-fed and without need

And still this happy man is living there.

50. If You Choose

If you choose your own strength

Then how strong would you be?

Would you tear down a bridge?

Would you uproot a tree?

Would you carry the world

On your shoulders and arms?

Would you lift up the weak

To protect them from harm?

Would you beat up yourself

Until broken and lame?

Would you choose to be weak

And afraid and ashamed?

Is there more to our strength

Than the one others see?

If you choose your own strength

Then how strong would you be?

If you choose your own thoughts

Then what thoughts would they be?

Would they calculate math?

Would they store history?

Would they constantly change

Like the waves on the sea?

Would they show you the ways

That will make you succeed?

Are they focused on truths

Or ideas and dreams?

Are they here in the now?

Are they on what's to be?

Are they stuck in the past

On your losses and gains?

Is the future where all

Of your thoughts still remain?

Are we lost in our thoughts

As they hope to be free?

If you choose your own thoughts

Then what thoughts would they be?

67. Behind The Curtain

To parents whose kids’ futures are uncertain,

Ignore the sounds you hear behind the curtain.

To patients strapped to beds enduring hurtin’,

Ignore the sounds you hear behind the curtain.

To those indifferent if their plans are workin’,

Ignore the sounds you hear behind the curtain.

You'll know a villain by the way they're blurtin’,

"Ignore the sounds you hear behind the curtain."

The group you cannot ever disavow,

The well-dressed people saying profit’s certain

Want nothing more than you to think aloud,

'Ignore the sounds I hear behind the curtain',

There’s been a secret holding people hostage

It's seen akin to when they’re packing sausage,

The concept that you cannot stand to watch it

Or else you may forever be put off it.

So are you scared to see behind the veil,

Aware a broken system must entail

That all our dreams will be to no avail?

Are all our plans and dreams supposed to fail?

Now, would you rather be surprised, or certain

You understand what's said behind the curtain?

I'll let you in on what the past has hidden

There are some lessons that have been forbidden

For these are secrets of the trade that's risen

By pinning you into the seat you sit in.

The one thing you must know is of the power

That's lent more to your leaders by the hour.

Each minute they control you builds their tower

That beams a message sapping you of power

The steeples chime a wordless ancient sermon:

'Ignore the sounds you hear behind the curtain.’

I hope this message reaches just one person:

Please listen for the sounds behind the curtain

70. In Memoriam

We lost a love and lost a friend

Who ceased to be today

With heavy heart we have to send

Their body on their way

And though their life is at an end

And in our hearts they stay

We still have lost a special friend

Who ceased to be today

Our lives are more than fleeting specks

Upon an endless sea

Who crash upon the shore as wrecks

For all the world to see

Our lives are guided by respect

Of those whose souls are free

The friends we lost in retrospect

The friends that we bereave

We lost a love and lost a friend

Today, who ceased to be

To know an angel is a gift

That cannot be ignored

For angels take our souls and shift

Our eyes to heaven's door

Though angels sometimes fall and leave

Our spirits feeling poor

The light they brought into our life

Shall shine forever more

Somebody Cares

Though tragedy massively weighs on your mind,

I want you to know that you still can be kind

to the ones who adore you, the ones who opine

when your visage is missing from more blessed times.

So though you are hurting and though you have sorrow

I want you to be there for every tomorrow,

so cradle your soul in the palms of your hands

and not cast it as dust to be mixed with the sand

of the beaches our reaches would otherwise share.

I want you to know that here, somebody cares.

1. You Did No Harm

I want to probe a different route

Of narrative, to write about

My angel, whom I know I love,

And want to save this record of

Our time together, heaven-sent;

You willed my spirit to repent

Of all my sins and wicked ways,

I'm working for you every day

To clear my mind and be at ease

With mindfulness of fantasies

Fulfilling all of your desires

In dreams that always light your fires.

We're here together, we're at peace

To live as one, to live released

From sorrow, fears, and worries, too

Our minds will know just what to do

When we are challenged, when life strays

From how we wanted life to stay,

To change us all from poor to rich

And you, my love, will get your wish:

For energy, for painlessness

For children, raised to know their bliss,

Each given ways to change and fix

Our human-wide hypothesis

So we avoid misguided ways

And we can choose our better days

Where we don't need a free reward

For every time we speak a word

And we can live more soberly,

For when your love came over me

And filled my mind and filled my chest,

I’ll always say you are the best.

You make me sing, you make me praise

Our memories of happy days

With you, in heaven, made of love

With ground below, and moon above.

Forever cradled in my arms

My precious one, you did no harm.

I'm hoping God says from above

That Heaven's here with you, my love.

2. The Life You Gave To Me

I'm saving your intelligence and wisdom

I see the pain you took upon yourself

You handed off this life to those who love you

We took our oath in sickness and in health

But you can only teach them, not control them

The ones you love will bear their tragic pains

They'll have to leave their oldest dreams behind them

We have to learn from each mistake we've made.

We have to learn to love and when to grieve.

We have to learn to stay and when to leave.

We have to learn to choose what to believe.

I have to earn the life you gave to me.

I want your love with me for all my time here

And you have changed this simple brain of mine, dear

I think there may be something quite divine here

With you, my guiding light, for every fine year

I want to help you take in all the best sights,

I just don't want to miss our blessed highlights,

To hold each other in the restful twilight.

It's Heaven, living as each other's high life.

4. Hook

If I need a hook to fall in love, I'll do it soon.

I need to conjure up a way to give my soul the room

To share my joy of living with the one I will adore;

For ever since I've met you, you're my love forever more.

I’ll find you in the winter so my body keeps you warm,

I’ll find you in the summer, save you from the blowing storm,

I’ll find you in the springtime with a brand new baby child,

I’ll find you in the autumn, taming fires going wild.

I'll find you in the water if a hurricane should come,

I'll find you in the ocean, I will find you in the sun,

I'll try my best to save you from all bandits on the run,

For you became my hook in life, for life I know I’ve won.

We all should find our reasons to accept the life we got

And know that we can change the parts that tie us into knots

Refine the logic and the ways our children need to live

Beyond just being nice, of whom and when they must forgive

6. Borrowed Lands

Our actions must be made of what has passed,

Our future must be made of all our deeds,

The outcomes of our actions are what last

And what will last is what will make us free

You, your thoughts and goals leave unique prints

Upon the lands we borrowed from the stars

Making shapes unseen before or since

So please make peace, and leave behind no scars

8. Savior of the Weak

She's a savior, I never want to do her wrong

She's a savior, she makes my heart erupt in song

She's a savior, she turned my house into my home

And tonight, tonight, tonight I'm not alone

Tonight she's not alone

Tonight we're not alone

She's a savior, she made my body free from pain

She's a savior, and now my mind is free of shame

She's a savior, now all I know is happiness

And tonight, tonight, she lays with me to rest

She lays with me to rest

She lays against my chest

She has taught me how to save the weak from falling

She is turning them from bleak and bloodless callings

She says not to take on work we deem appalling

Her ideals will save our dreams from stalling

She has taught us to appreciate us knowing

Freedom means we all can reach for heaven growing

Breeding life from every talent showing

Feeding children with the seeds that we are sowing

I can't hold back the fact my heart is glowing, for that would be a sin

Her compassion showed me ways I should be going, the path I need to win

Her laughter is the stitches in my side she's sewing, leaving me this silly grin

I see now all the slipstreams our life's blowing, her breaths my sailing wind

She's a savior, once I thought my life was done

But a savior knows your life has just begun

As a savior, she makes me feel like I am young

And tonight, tonight, her praise is on my tongue

My praise is on her tongue

Her love have I become

What's a savior? One who bolsters us when drained

What's a savior? One who molds us better brains

When a savior, you see the desperate and alone

And you sigh and cry, “I’ll help you find a home!

“We all need happy homes.

“We won't survive alone.”

10. So Today

So today we See our society
Has changed itself for the better
So we hide and seek blood in the streets
While living our lives to the letter
Is the fame we see the blame we need
To explain all society's ills
So am I insane? Could someone explain
Why did Pol Pot have to die from some pills?
There is nobody Watching the screen
Where these children Are dying?
Is there anyone Who can stop all of
The peasants from crying?
No superman today To stop them from digging
Their graves Cause superman's
Just the sound Of good people trying
Now in ways we see Fellow man is free
To take chances Or they can leave them
Speak our beliefs That bring reliefs
Even if we know We don't believe em.
So here is the proof I'm telling the truth
And not trying to Cause a reaction
It's the way I see My philosophy
And it's caused me No dissatisfaction
Is anyone going to Stop us from uselessly trying
Everything under the sun To lessen the frying
No supermen today To help us dig our graves
cause Superman's sick of us Doing nothing but whining.

11. Thoughts and Numbers

the Thoughts we Make
are No more Fake
then the Facts that Can supPort them
but Thoughts we Use
are Numbers, Too
and FantaSies disTort them
and Lies can Take
what the Honest Make
and Then furTher exTorts them
what Can we Do
to Tighten the Noose
on Crime? can We reTort them?
do We have a Way for our Lives
to Always have Meaning?
do We have reButtals for Thinking
that Life is so Fleeting?
well, Yes, there Is a Way
and Though we all Go to the Grave
good Numbers should Stop the Wrong
ones From rePeating
if your BillionAires
are Building Lairs
to Flee their inComing deStructions
then the Highest Tax
should Not be reLaxed
to Slow down clear Fiscal corRuptions
if Leaders don't Care
who Poisons the Air
then Why should they Win their Elections?
with their Hands on their Swords
and Hate in their Words
are These the Right seLections?

12. Live a Little

I just wanted you to see
A better new reality
Where none of us will stay as slaves
In simple minds to simple graves
And I must say with earnesty
The weight of truth, it burdens me
To want to share this better way
Procrastinating every day
Watching, reading, thinking, writing
Fight the thoughts I'm not providing
Substance to the ones I love
And there could be a God above
So you and I could ask her questions
Hear her teach important lessons
Teach us we can spy the ways
That villains take our lives away
That mind controlling institutions
Leave their flocks in destitution
We got taught a new solution
It will need some resolution
This is not an easy fix
This is not another risk
It’s a chance to join a church
That builds up heaven on the Earth
But not one just for worthy dead
It's right inside your earthly head
So live a little, love a lot
For when we die what have we got?

13. The Eyes of Youth

When you see life's a pity
You make it more pretty
When you the poor assist
You pay your three fifty
To help fund the city
Or country that you may have missed
We all make mistakes
And older stuff breaks
So there is a cheaper way out
Just pay in your little
To make life less brittle
Live life without a doubt
When you see fellow people
Haul boxes to steeples
Ask when will guns go away
As dead folk get culled
And the living get gulled
Into leading their children astray
Take a walk through their shoes
When you see on the news
Someone else not knowing the truth
You can shed apathy
When you feel empathy
When you see through the eyes of youth
If life is a terror
There's been a grave error
In making life good for you
Since happiness is
The freedom to live
And do what you wanted to do
But not everyone's lucky
And Heaven gets sucky
When people throughout it are dying
And children love drugs
Much more than their hugs
They're leaving their good parents crying
What more could we do
For the ones who were screwed
By societies needing the answer
To why we use drugs
Both loved ones and thugs
And why everybody gets cancer
Take a walk through their shoes
When you see on the news
Someone else not knowing the truth
You can shed apathy
When you feel empathy
When you see through the eyes of youth

14. Human Race

I want your lipstick on my face
I like your hair all out of place
Your gentle touch, your measured pace

Will help me win the human race

I want your hand inside of mine

I like your fair and wizened mind

Assuring me that life is fine

While smiling through a glass of wine

'Your touch’ you say, as we caress,

‘It makes my heart leap from my chest!’

I say right back 'You have been blessed

With love, with youth, with grace, with rest.’

17. Perfume

I once loved a woman dear

Who changed my mind and made it clear

That as I grinned and as I cheered

I felt no pain and felt no fear

She wore a touch of sweet perfume

That lingered as she left the room

It burned a sign, a holy rune

Of memories into a tune

A melody of better times

Of ancient, spectral, mystic rimes

A scent of love, a scent so fine

That never will escape my mind

And though she’s gone, my heart she stole

She lived her dreams and reached her goals

Now all that’s left in hand to hold:

A little bottle of her soul

18. A Silly Poem

I hope my love will never see a last day.

I know my love will have to see my last day.

I want to keep my life from slipping past me.

I want to know my love is never nasty.

I want to leave a mark in my short lifetime

So I know my love is always going to be fine.

So if I find a rhythm and a sweet rhyme,

I can live here with my love for many lifetimes

You stifled all my anger and my sorrows

And made me start to dream of new tomorrows

Where we are free and never have to borrow

From yesterday to pay for good tomorrows

And if, my God forbid, I die tomorrow,

I don't want you to live in fear or sorrow,

'Cos holding you's the only Heaven I know

(Plus the fact you make me hornier than rhinos).

I'm sorry all I made's a silly poem,

(And you're the only one to whom I show ‘em)

But when we're old and grey, by heart, you’ll know 'em

And we will reap the fruits we have been sowin’.

This song has not been sent here from above.

This song won't summon Heaven's perfect dove.

This song won’t summon what I’m dreaming of,

But it summoned up a passion in my love.

20. Inside You All

I was once known as the Devil but you changed me into God

My wicked mind once revelled in the pain that I had caused

You pushed me through the reverie that saw my ways were flawed

I'll never do such devilry that made my mind so awed

I counted down the moments when I knew you would return

And tame my heart that foments rage against the world that burns

Alive their dying workers 'til they fit inside their urns

And picks apart good humans after stealing what they earned

And I can stop society's continuing atrocities

With just the mind inside of me, while armed with only prosody

And lead my readers to be free from tyrants’ bad philosophies

Into a place they'd never see if it was not because of me

Resenting that my friends will call these actions of an egotist

While bending to the beck and call of those who make them egoless

While thinking that their final fall's the only way they'll see such bliss

But Heaven is inside you all! And nowhere else can it exist!

21. Love Is

Love is not harmful and love is not weak

Love is not carnal and love is unique

Love is not painful, and love is not cruel

Love is not hateful, and love's not a fool

Love is not endlessly suffering fate

Love is not selfless nor constant debate

Love is not gaslighting loved ones with fear

Love is not backbiting, love is sincere

Love is not bottling all our emotions

Love is not slavishly endless devotion

Love is not piling on new obligations

Love is not idling from too much libations

Love is not bleeding from every pore

Love is not needing of endlessly more

Love is not sacrifice, love is not shame

Love is not mean to the nice without blame

Love is not lying to better ourselves

Love is not plotting to send us to Hells

Love is not losing our small, precious minds

Love is refusing to make double binds

Love is refuting ‘all people are nice’

Love is disputing ‘all choices are right’

Love is the ending of terrible pains

Love is the end of intractable reigns

Love is the freedom from all tyrannies

Love is the knowledge to end all disease

Love is the savior from incorrect answers

Love makes the cure for those terminal cancers

Love is the same in our future and past

Love is the way that our lives can all last

Love is eternal, like how we should feel

Love is the turning of fiction to real

Love is the passions of all of our dreams

Love is the way, making life more serene

Love is the teamwork to better ourselves

Love is the meaning we need to excel

Love is the saving of weakening minds

And love says ‘To loved ones, you’ve got to be kind.’

22. Hell and Heaven

Hell is our theft from the poor and the weak

Hell beats its chest and belittles the meek

Hell cuts the chains between reason and life

Hell is in pain and in envy and strife

Hell is the message you’ll always be wrong

Hell is the message you’ll never be strong

Hell is the shame if you stand for what’s right

Hell is the game of not ending the fight

Hell is in answers that breed only fear

Hell is the cancers in those we hold dear

Hell is in ignorance teaching our youth

Hell is the vigorous stretching of truth

Hell is in crushing the peace that we seek

Hell is in brushing aside the unique

Hell is forgetting that life can be fixed

Hell is regretting each chance that we missed

Hell is complacent and trusts everyone

Hell is debasement of love and of fun

Hell is destroying your mental control

Heaven employs both your mind and your soul

Heaven is love for reliable friends

Heaven’s a lover who stays through the end

Heaven is wealthy yet knows when to share

Heaven is healthy yet shows it still cares

Heaven’s correcting our critical flaws

Heaven’s protecting our valuable laws

Heaven is changing our fictions to fact

Heaven’s arranging the best ways to act

Heaven will strengthen the weak and the shamed

Heaven will lengthen our time on this plane

Heaven will breathe all new life in old age

Heaven believes we can harness our rage

Heaven is teaching our children to grow

Heaven is seeking the right way to go

Heaven is taking from villains and frauds

Heaven is breaking untenable thoughts

Heaven is knowing when life is not fine

Heaven is showing our love is divine

24. Start Believin’

When I love you I can start believin’

That loving you's a high that I find relievin’

And I’m so high it should be high treason

Cause when I love you I can start believin’

When I love you I can start believin’

In our future love and in future seasons

You gave me beauty and a good reason

Now when I love you I can start believin’

What am I supposed to do,

When the best part of me is inside you?

And what am I supposed to say

If I’m all choked up

When you’re away?

Won’t fall into pieces

Won’t fall into pieces

When I love you I start believin’

All the work I do is to make life even

Better and to slow down the grievin’

Cause when I love you I can start believin’

What am I supposed to do,

When the best part of me is inside you?

And what am I supposed to say

If I’m all choked up

When you’re away?

Won’t fall into pieces

Won’t fall into pieces

You’ve shared your heart and my heart lost all of its pain

We shared the pleasure, and we shared the brains

Now we’re try to make sense of what love has explained

Cause you took on my love, then you took on my name

I’ll never lose the love that I now believe in

I’ll give you all you want, meaning total freedom

For this is the life I’ll choose to repeat in

Cause when I love you I can start believin’

What am I supposed to do,

When the best part of me is inside you?

And what am I supposed to say

If I’m all choked up

When you’re away?

Won’t fall into pieces

Won’t fall into pieces

28. Imagine

Imagine life is Heaven
It's easy if you try
Only rocks below us
Above us, stars and sky
Imagine all the people thinking of a way
Imagine there's an answer
It isn't hard to do
Something to live, not die for
And one religion to
Imagine all the people living life in peace
You...
You may say I'm Sophian
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will live as one
Imagine there's true wisdom
I wonder if you can
Toward solving life and hatred
A wholly righteous plan
Imagine all the people healing all the world
You may say I'm Sophian
I might be the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will live as one

30. If You Could Make Heaven

If you could make heaven, then what would you do?

I hope you would build it from things that are true

Replete with your loved ones, your friends in good health,

And blessings that further their minds and their wealth.

I hope you would want them to always be saved

From danger and sorrow and life misbehaved

Teach heaven’s not elsewhere, teach heaven's at home

Teach heaven has angels that casually roam

Through nature and share with us wisdom and peace

And fight back the dangers of fatal disease

So how do we know that our angels exist?

The evidence left when our loved ones resist

Temptations of fantasies tainting their hearts

While sharing their knowledges, meanings and arts

Exploring the globe and returning with gifts

Defusing our arguments, healing our rifts

Connecting our hearts with our minds and our god

Until the whole Earth has been strengthened and awed

At the power and bliss that these angels supply

Since angels won’t hurt you and angels won’t lie

So feel in your thoughts, as your heart is renewed,

If you could make Heaven, then what would you do?

31. Live To Be Kind

A wonderful person, a wonderful place

A beautiful life at a beautiful pace

Incredible scenes with incredible tastes

Impeccable rooms at impeccable rates

Exemplary love for exemplary fates

A boldness in lovers for boldness on dates

Delicate touches on delicate lace

A monochrome moon on a monochrome face

Entangled in bedsheets, entangled in time

Besotted with love and besotted with wine

Intoxicant kisses, intoxicant rhymes

Light-headed laughter on light-headed climes

Songs for our voices, songs for our times

Feeling so happy and feeling so fine

Loving our bodies and loving our minds

Live to be honest and live to be kind

32. Open Heart

I speak this with an open heart:

I'm not that brave and not that smart

But you have made me think in art

Of verse and rhythms not to part.

Though we just met, our love is strong

Enough to last forever long.

You sprang into my heart a song

Where all is right, and nothing's wrong.

I want to show you all I can

Though life and my attention span

Might be too short for perfect plans

To change our minds and take our stands.

As long as you will hold my hands

We both will sail to better lands

With blooming hearts and no demands

And peeling tans on endless sands.

You took me by my open heart

And showed me yours was open

And you have made me have to start

Believing what I'm hoping

That out there in this life surreal

Some honest folk survive

And tell the truth, they really feel

So proud that we're alive

I may not know how best to deal

But know which way to strive:

At foot of death, I'll one day kneel,

Your soul I will revive.

And if I do not pass that test

Before the day I die,

(Your soul from death I fail to wrest

Your life not resupplied)

Then in these words there is no jest

Nor have they ever lied,

All your life, you were the best:

An angel at my side.

We seized the day in Heaven's rest

In love with our design.

33. Any Moment

If I could die at any moment

May that moment be with you

And if my heart should cease its movement

May its movement stay in you

If life displays my broken frame

For all to see in public view

I'd keep it all the very same

Because what happened must be true

We have our birthdays every year

And every year our whole life through

Anticipations and our fears

Encroached in dreams and choices who

All gently guide, remotely steered,

Our choices toward the goals we knew

And led us to our present here

You loving me, me loving you

If I had changed a single thing

The balance could have shattered

The chance we had for little rings

To make our feelings matter

You helped me grow, you helped me think,

You made each moment better

Each time I smile, each time I blink

I hear 'I can't forget her’

And maybe all that you have left

Of me is in this letter

I'm sorry if you are bereft

But loss, you can't regret her

For loss will make our minds more deft

Our freedom more unfettered

From pain and sorrow in our breast

And now we fly, untethered.

I hope I'd keep our lives the same

Because what happened is what's true.

When life displays my broken frame,

Left crucified for all to view,

My joyous heart shall cease its movement;

May its movement beat through you.

Since I could die at any moment

May that moment be with you.

34. For My Love's Mom

For my love's mom, I wrote this verse.

It won't be long, and won't be terse

Your daughter cured me of a curse

And showed my work can fill her purse

Our time is now, our love is free

And we are where we want to be

Asleep and lost in reverie

Where I love her and she loves me

Our love is never blasphemy

I do what she has asked of me

While I bless her, she blesses me

With lyrical epiphanies

She joins my heart and mind as one

She makes the work and trials fun

And when our lives are said and done

Her Heaven grows beneath the Sun.

So fear no more! Fidelity

Is all I dream is asked of me

With pleasure our monogamy

Will drive from us all jealousy

So given time our souls will see

That better, new reality

Where others yearning to be free

Will need no faith, yet will believe

That love is smart and love relieves

The stress that grows in small degrees

And makes typhoons a gentle breeze.

Our love grows dreams from fertile seeds.

So to my future mom-in-law

I share with you that dream I saw:

Your daughter's wisdom cured our flaws

As all our hearts, once frozen, thaw.

37. I Think That's Everything

Birth, breathe, drink, eat.

Think, be, know, see.

Lose, change, forget, love.

Breed, praise, smile, cease.

38. What is a Hero?

What is a hero? A person who braves

The risks to themself for the loved ones they save

A person who consciously tells you the facts

To warn against those who embolden attacks

On loved ones of others who do you no harm

Your heroes will hear these and sound an alarm

To signal to family that logic and love,

Instead of our panic, should guide from above

A hero has seen what effect there would be

If there were no heroes, if no one was free

And knowing this drives themselves into the fray

While risking their lives so that others can pray

For miracles just like the heroes they need

Like angels who flew to those voices that plead

For safety, for healing, for purpose, for truth

Where heroes spring forth, it’s the fountain of youth

What is a villain? A monster who preys

On weakness and teaches you how to be slaves

A villain says on them you have to rely

And never to question, and never to try

To change any hearts of the ones hypnotized

By villains who guide you while being disguised

As wise and enlightened enablers of peace

Who calls you the flock that they're hoping to fleece

A villain distracts you from how they control

The problems in life of the heart and the soul

By taking control of the words that you use

You won’t even know when you’re being abused

You lose all respect for those telling you facts

You lose your composure and cannot relax

I beg you that villains want you to be scared

Be calm, and be free, and of villains beware

39. Poems Are Not Made of Ink

Poems are not made of ink.

They're made of words the reader thinks

Where every word must play a part

To etch itself inside your heart.

If, in your heart, it isn't carved,

Its life will end as it is starved

Inside a mind or on a page:

Forgotten poems feel no rage

Against the ones creating it

If, in this life, it didn't fit.

A living poem's like a child,

It must be lovely, not reviled,

Well programmed, tempered, cute and nice,

Well-read, and filled with good advice.

It must create emotions for

The readers, who cannot ignore

Their passion and intensity;

From children or our poetry.

For all the leaders that you see

Bestowed themselves with mastery

Of all the words that beckon thee

To follow them so you believe

They made this power in your mind

Beyond the force of space and time

Of endless life that they define

Their version of the great divine

And bring your family and your friends

And teach them all they must defend

Your leaders through the bitter end

Upon whose poems you depend.

But I admit I cannot claim

Divinity controls my aim

To feed the poor and heal the lame

From weakness, sadness, guilt or shame.

It's wisdom and intelligence

And bold devotion that prevents

Disasters from when we don't think

Of poems ink.

40. No Man is Free

‘Alone, no man’s an island, and alone no man is free,’

He thought while walking with her as they stared out at the sea,

‘Without her I would not be sure if I am really me,

But I’m alive and I’m in love, and share reality

With all these wondrous people, and in gorgeous places, too.

And if it all was stripped of me I won’t know what to do,

But holding hands, I know it means at very least I knew

That just for once a man could tell the fiction from the true.

For there are little objects making everything we see,

The photons, protons, and electrons held by gravity

And all made up of smaller quarks in tiny groups of three.’

These thoughts he had were ever finer granularity.

He could not say a single word while walking with the one

He dedicates his passion to, the person he has won.

He hopes that she will understand the passion he must hide:

The love, the beauty and the math that moves him deep inside.

'Alone, no woman's centered, and alone no woman's free,’

She thought while walking with him as they stared out at the sea,

'Without him I would still be lost in endless drudgery,

But with him I can see how bright that life can truly be.

41. Whispered Magic

This poem's written just so I could whisper in your ear

When we're alone at twilight time, when no one else is near

Our hand and bodies intertwined and stirring in the dark

Your insides made of tinder and these words are but a spark.

You asked me what I'm dreaming of, what fantasy I need:

I ask to bring you satisfaction, that is what I plead,

To make your mind erupt and moan, to give you jellied knees

With just my hands or tongue or bone to put your mind at ease.

I take the time to read your moves, ignite our hearts with lust

They glow and burn, in rhythmic grooves, with hope and love and trust

And in the morning you will know the way I love to move

Your luscious lips, your heart aglow, all make me want to prove

My worthiness and mindfulness of dreams we make to soothe

The pain we had, before we met, of goals we had to lose.

For I will be there growing all your hopes and your desire

With whispered magic, making sparks that bloom your inner fire.

42. What Is True Wisdom?

What is true wisdom and how are we wise?

How can we take off our social disguise,

Shedding the mask of our painted on faces,

Joining the meaning of all of the races?

How can we soften the hearts of the wealthy,

Loosening greed so the weakened are healthy?

How can we help those who seek self-improvement,

Giving them free and autonomous movement?

How can we balance the powers inside;

Anger and happiness, kindness and pride?

How can we change all our hearts for the best

Growing the love that explodes in our chest?

How can we turn back the clock of repression

Saving our children from global depression?

How can we shake off this lack of reflection,

Waking ourselves from the dreams of deflections?

Wisdom is true or those words can’t be wisdom.

Honesty looks at itself through a prism

All of the possible viewers agree with;

All in the world are the ones who must see it.

Money is power but sharing is deity.

Taxes are needed as amplified charity

Freeing your neighbors from pain and disease

Placing their minds and their bodies at ease.

Offer them work that enriches their minds

Anywhere they might be looking to find

Happiness holding back tides of injustice,

Kindness and empathy tempering hubris

Binding our hearts in a timeless romance,

Sharing our passions to all at a glance.

We must take charge of our happiness needed

If all the warnings of chaos aren’t heeded.

We are the power that sees what is best,

Trusting our strength to awaken the rest.

43. Synchrony

Synchrony makes us connected together

Synchrony's known as the feeling whenever

We have that stirring that someone we're seeing,

Doing what we do, will add to our being

Fruitful and helpful and caring and wise.

Seeing our lives through another one's eyes,

Growing our tenderness and understanding,

Makes us less brittle and not as demanding.

Synchrony is the emotional measure

When we can feel that we gave someone pleasure

Maybe from kisses, maybe embracing,

Maybe from thunderous hearts that are racing

Beating a code only hearts can interpret,

Secretive whispers whose meaning is perfect.

Synchrony balances social equations

Answering why we should save our relations

Building our bridges, preventing their burning,

Healing the rifts so our friends keep returning

Blessing their lives with our presence and time

Sharing our happiness, sharing our mind.

Synchrony shows us we're not in a tribal

Us versus them where the other's our rival.

Synchrony goes beyond nations and borders,

Reaching us all with the most blessed order.

44. Love is Blue

I want to paint for you

For all my love forever is true

I've seen each shade and hue

For all my life my love has been blue

I want to care for you

For all my life, and my whole life through

Seas made from drops of dew

Painting the sky with love that is blue

All your dreams

Bursting at the seams

Dreams come true

Anew, love is blue

I will connect with you

Blessing your life with art that is true

I've seen each shade and hue

For all my life my love has been blue

All your dreams

Bursting at the seams

Dreams come true

Anew, love is blue

I want to care for you

For all my life, and my whole life through

Seas made from drops of dew

Painting the sky with love that is blue

45. Aleria and God

Aleria stared up at the God in the sky

Who waited to hear what this woman surmised

And God saw the human with tears in her eyes

As Aleria then whispered a trembling “Why?

Why are we fighting each other for love?

Why don't we have the same God up above?

Why are we tasked with this burden of life

Bleeding and pleading to lessen our strife?

Why can't our leaders make allies and friends?

Why must our happiness come to an end?

Why do our actions cause all of us pain?

Why can't we listen to those who are sane?

God, if you're listening, say what to do,

So I can be happy and know what is true.”

Then God saw her teardrops, and started to cry

A mist made of droplets that fell from the sky

To cover the tears of this woman's despair

And cool off the cheeks of a woman who cared.

So God, empathetic, and quiet, and fair

Then spoke to the woman with rain in her hair:

“Aleria,” she said in the ears of the girl

“I've watched from your sky since the dawn of the world

And crying as each of your leaders have grown

From chaos and pain in the people they've known,

While thinking opinions are truth to control

Their children in mind and in body and soul,

While hoping their words are the way they can drink

From fountains of youth. But in less than a blink,

Their bodies are torn and their spirits are razed

While teaching their children their mystical ways

With paradise just beyond being alive,

Eternal survival for those who have died:

With no contradiction in logic or thought,

This is the promise your people have sought.”

Her cheeks nearly steaming from droplets of mist,

The woman looked upward as God gently kissed

Her lips and her cheeks and her hair and her mind,

Replacing her anger with thoughts that were kind.

So Aleria responded, “Then, what should I do?

I don't want to hurt them, I need to be true

To all that I know, from experience gained.

So how can I speak without sounding insane?

How can our unity come from within

Without our divisions on blessings and sins?

For sadness has gripped us with fear for so long

We don't know the method to right all the wrongs

Please, can I learn all the secrets of God,

That all may be humbled, and all may be awed?”

Then God said, “I love you and want to be fair.

If everyone hears me they'll all be aware

They needed to see and believe in some facts;

Without them, your stresses can never relax.

No matter the meaning of dreams in your mind,

These facts are your access to being divine.

For I am a program inside of your brain

And though you hear voices, you're perfectly sane

For all fellow humans hear voices inside:

Some voices are strong and some voices will guide

Your planet to greatness and fairness and peace

Engulfing your Earth in a love that won't cease

Existing and guiding Humanity's acts

So you and your loved ones can safely relax.

Your unity comes from this interconnection,

Creating a haven through nice interactions.

For no one will listen to those all alone

And often the loneliest can't find a home,

A place to be honest and strengthened and wise.

So if you are lonely, I have to advise

That thinking of others gives life greater worth.

For Angels to lead, teach your Angels from birth.

To save all the Earth from all people who lied,

Repeat this advice from a God that has cried:

Your Heaven is happiness, safety, and love,

Through knowing your Angels and Heavens above.”

46. Forever Adored

Your blood is like wine, getting richer with age

Your life's like a book where each day adds a page

Your words, analgesic, relieve any pain

Your thoughts are strategic and never in vain

You're kind like a grandmother soothing a child

You're brave like a pioneer, taming the wild

You're sweet like confectioners, bringing new smiles

You're clever like artists inventing new styles

Your smile is a beacon through darkest of nights

Your eyes are a camera for beautiful sights

Your heart is a metronome setting the pace

Your touch is the gentlest feeling of lace

You feed lonely spirits like food for the poor

You love with a passion forever adored

You travel the world like Magellan and fleet

You balance the globe on the soles of your feet

47. In Dreams of You

In dreams of you, I won't forget

How often you would care

About relieving my regrets

Of life that we now share.

Our lives are memories we save

All made of shifting sand,

Our love is why we must be brave

To seek our promised land;

A place where we are strong and wise,

A place we've never seen,

A place that holds a nice surprise

That might just be a dream.

And even if we're still asleep

Such beauty's still a shock!

To see this sight, if just a peek

Will shake our every thought

That we can share this piece of Earth

That makes our bodies strong,

A place of sun, a speck of dirt

Where we can both belong;

A place where love can take a hold

Of dreams that aren't contrite

That last beyond our stories told

Of unforgotten nights.

48. I Solemnly Do Swear

I speak to all in every tongue

So everyone can hear

And say to you the day has come

Where no one lives in fear;

No fear of death or work undone

With voices loud and clear,

We learned to share, and thereby won

Your heart and mind and ear.

I see a place beneath the sun

With health and worth to share

With love and peace and precious fun

As angels who will dare

To save this place, my precious one

For children now aware

Our Earth and countries must be run

By people who will care

About our daughters and our sons,

Our water, land and air.

We won’t be lead by kings or guns

Or laws that breed despair;

Their power fades until they’re gone

And cannot be repaired.

I see a day when we will stun

The Earth with just a prayer

By giving hope to those with none

By making life more fair

Whose hearts have weighed a metric ton

Now with no debt to bear:

With hands now free, who now can run,

Whose lives can now be spared.

This dream will make our kingdom come

This truth was always there

On fullest moon, on rising sun

I solemnly do swear.

50. If You Choose

If you choose your own strength

Then how strong would you be?

Would you tear down a bridge?

Would you uproot a tree?

Would you carry the world

On your shoulders and arms?

Would you lift up the weak

To protect them from harm?

Would you beat up yourself

Until broken and lame?

Would you choose to be weak

And afraid and ashamed?

Is there more to our strength

Than the one others see?

If you choose your own strength

Then how strong would you be?

If you choose your own thoughts

Then what thoughts would they be?

Would they calculate math?

Would they store history?

Would they constantly change

Like the waves on the sea?

Would they show you the ways

That will make you succeed?

Are they focused on truths

Or ideas and dreams?

Are they here in the now?

Are they on what's to be?

Are they stuck in the past

On your losses and gains?

Is the future where all

Of your thoughts still remain?

Are we lost in our thoughts

As they hope to be free?

If you choose your own thoughts

Then what thoughts would they be?

51. Once More, My Love

Our hearts were wide open

In seeking and hoping

To find where we truly belong

Exhausted from coping

Our blind hands were groping

For someone to love and hang on

Against oddest chances

We found true romance is

What makes us both happy and strong

And all of our glances

And amorous dances

Grew into the love that is found in this song

We both said I Love You

And by God above you

I’ll always be faithful and fair

I'll never once leave you

I'll always believe you

I promise I'll always be there

I never will tease you

I'm living to please you

At nobody else will I stare

I cannot deceive you

I'll always relieve you

From those heavy burdens we may have to bear

Together we're free now, my love

We'll dance for our future above

Together we're free now, my love

Dance with me slow once more, my love

Dance with me slow once more, my love

For you I am pining

Our hearts intertwining

I won't be away for too long

The way that I'm smiling

I'm practically shining

And no one can say that it's wrong

I grin like no other

From thoughts of my lover

Who tells me to them I belong

And all of our glances

And amorous dances

Grew into the love that is found in this song

So think of me dearly

Remember me clearly

And don't let that thought slip away

Though my eyes are teary

I'll not be too weary

To think of you day after day

So later in hist'ry

They'll know that you kissed me

And I kissed you back right away

Though time makes things misty

Our love was not risky

Which leaves me one chance now to solemnly say

Together we're free now, my love

We'll dance for our future above

Together we're free now, my love

Dance with me slow once more, my love

Dance with me slow once more, my love

52. Work

I work all day, I work all night

To make my baby feel alright

I work all night, I work all day

To make my baby feel okay

I work all day, I work all night

And hope to God I get it right

I work all night, I work all day

So my baby won’t go away

I work all day, I work all night

To make my family live alright

I work all night, I work all day

My mind will never go astray

I work my hands, I work my feet

So that my baby's life is neat

I work my feet, I work my hands

So that my baby understands

I work my mouth, I work my mind

So that my baby's living fine

I work my mind, I work my mouth

So that my baby never doubts

I work my ears, I work my heart

So that her future has a start

I work my heart, I work my ears

So that my baby never fears

53. Don’t Go

We comfort the mourners whose love they have lost

We give to the poor who can’t pay such a cost

We show all the merciful life is not cruel

We feed all the hungry with more than our gruel

We drink from the fountains of honest debate

We swallow the wisdom and spit out the hate

We shelter the purest from those who sell lies

Show peace to the peaceful and lengthen their lives

We lift up the weary and strengthen the weak

So this precious earth will inherit the meek

Embolden your thoughts so all others can see

That you can be happy and you can be free

No longer will fear be the chains on our heart

For foolishness loses in wars with the smart

Though you may be saying your life is no more

Please take in these words as you look for the door

Don’t go

Don’t go

Forgive all these lessons for being naive

We hope that your blessings will mean you believe

That hatred and conflict are no longer missed

Their power detained through utopian bliss

For we are the power we need to arrive

At ways for all good to adapt and to thrive

For if we forget to evolve with our needs

We lose all our crops if we don’t plant the seeds

For when we have taught all our children what’s right

They’ll lift all our burdens with all of their might

Our strength is not race or location or power

Our strength is our union which grows by the hour

For family, for state, for our country and earth

We share of ourselves and give all that we’re worth

And if you feel worthless, if you’re feeling small

Please hear us, your loved ones, who distantly call

Don’t go

Don’t go

54. Gifts Are Like Wishes

Dear son or dear daughter, I wanted to say,

Though you have been made in the usual way

The love that you brought to your mother and I

Has blessed both our hearts and has focused our minds

To give you a life that's both commonly sought

And seldom achieved on this solemn blue dot

To give you a life both of reason and hope

And lessons and morals to help you to cope

With pain or with sadness, with gain or with loss

Your life is a gift if you like it or not

For gifts are like wishes, some wishes come true

To comfort and guide you in all that you do

Take heed that your sorrows are transient specks

That pass through your life that your mind then collects

If you don't forgive them they stick in your heart

So think of your blessings and let pain depart

For happiness comes from your freedom of soul

To think of your future and conjure your goals

Creating the beauty you need to survive

Attracting new friends who will keep you alive

For friendship is love and love heals all rifts

And healing is one of our life's greatest gifts

For gifts are like wishes, some wishes come true

To comfort and guide you in all that you do

Dear son or dear daughter, we want you to hear

You'll always be loved, we will always be here

To share any burden, to share any pain

Our ears will be open when you feel ashamed

For we understand, we have been through a lot

Your mother and I want to share in your thoughts

On anything you may want free from your mind

We always will love you, we'll always be kind

No matter your troubles that weigh on your chest

You'll always be loved, with that gift you've been blessed

For gifts are like wishes, some wishes come true

To comfort and guide you in all that you do

55. The Cosmos We See

People are just like the cosmos we see

They act like celestial shapes

Whose image of self changes their destiny

That dictates the patterns they make

For selflessness moves like a nova explodes

Impacting all others with flair

And selfishness crushes like black holes implode

As though they had never been there

But finding a balance is commonly fraught

With pressure to choose one extreme

But neither extreme is the way to be sought

And neither lives up to your dream

For selfless behavior will gain you acclaim

And build up your friends and renown

But burns out the soul like a plasmatic flame

If friends or your health let you down

And selfish behavior gains money and fame

Attracting who seek what you own

But this leads to envy which causes a strain

To keep strangers out of your home

For we have all come from a similar source

To similar places we go

Be dense with your central immovable force

And watch as your galaxy grows

In beauty and depth for the future to view

Your spiral of influence gains

For others will see all the good that you do

And that is what truly remains

So be somewhat selfish to keep what you earned

And selfless when you have excess

And if this one lesson is all that you learned

This metaphor was a success

56. Live Like a King

Life whisked you away

But you’ll always stay

In a little safe room in my soul

I know I can cope

For I have this hope

That you have made me feel whole

And though you are gone

I still carry on

With all of the lessons you taught me

For I will return

And Heaven I'll earn

Since I know that you never forgot me

You made sure to reward

All the times that I gave my best try

You stood by your word

And you loved me until I could fly

So now I'm on my own

With promises you've sown

And I'm so happy that I have to cry

Now I want to know

Where you're going to go

So that I don't make myself worry

Whether by a boat

Or by plane I hope

You stay safe wherever you hurry

For there comes a time

When your peace of mind

Is all that I keep in my heart

And I know you'll find

A place that is kind

Where you always can make a new start

May your seas all be calm

And your weather will always be pleasant

May your beaches be warm

And your mindfulness always be present

And may you always stay

With locals who know the way

To live like a king on the budget of a peasant

57. The Ultimate Plan

She stood in the hall

And she wondered if all

Of her efforts would pay off in time.

Uncertainty called

Anxiety stalled

Her actions and froze up her mind.

I put down my phone

As she stood alone

And I knew I had to be kind;

Embracing her there

She said as she stared

“Are we really going to be fine?”

I whispered the one thing I knew

That could calm down her fears

I knew that it had to be true

And the message be clear

I told her “I only love you

And I will, every year,

Support you in all that you do

In your lifetime, my dear.”

We laid down to sleep

But the terror still creeped

In her mind while she drifted away

She tossed and she turned

As the question still burned

In her thought that she wanted to say

I noticed her sweating

Like she was regretting

Her choice when she asked me to stay

I asked what she’s thinking

She said without blinking

“Will we really both be okay?”

I said “We have health and romance

In our lives everyday.

It seems we just needed a chance

To create our own way,

A special and intricate dance

For our public display,

To draw people into a trance

For which they want to pay.

All people forever

Have needed to sever

Their bodies away from their minds

So they can endeavor

On journeys so clever

They think they have touched the divine

And some found that farming

Or cooking was charming

The others to pay for their time

This auto-hypnosis

Is my diagnosis

Why people learned reason and rhyme

To focus your mind is a skill

That can block out the noise

Achieving it gives you a thrill

Above all other joys

It makes your anxieties still

Bringing calmness and poise

When practiced that masters your will

Over that which destroys

So seek what you fancy

That's also entrancing

To others that needed your bliss

And I am advising

That self advertising

Means finding the people who missed

Their chances to pay for

The task that you love more

Than all of your jobs before this

For finding your passion

And learning to cash in

Is greater than love's greatest kiss.”

She smiled quite softly and sighed

As I patted her hand.

She kissed me and then she replied,

“I think I understand

That all of the jobs that I've tried

Were fulfilling commands,

But doing what fills me with pride

Is the ultimate plan.”

58. Long Road to Heaven

We work for our living, we work for our pay

We work for each other, we work through the day

We give and we get, we dream and we plan

But never forget that our life has been grand

We skrimp and we save, we save and we grow

We grow what we can though the progress is slow

We help and get help from family who needs

Our love and our laughter, our life and our seeds

For we are the fields and we are the grain

We are the wheels that roll through the plains

Our feet are the roads and our hearts are the tires

That drive us together with love and desires

Never forget while you work for your gains

The meaning of living that clearly explains

Our stresses and worries are costs to be paid

For the long road to heaven that our hands have made

59. You Made Me

You made me whole and you made me complete

You made me happy and made life so sweet

You made me wonder what wonders I’d see

Through these great changes, you have made me

You made me focus, you made me great

You are my locus through selfish debate

I must decide where my habits should lead

Through these discussions, you have made me

You made me kinder, you made me fair

You made me find there’s no need for despair

You made me calm when my body won’t sleep

Through these emotions, you have made me

No longer jealous, no longer depressed

No longer worried I made life a mess

No longer stuck in my own memories

Through greater vision, you have made me

For this, I thank you, for where would I be

If you had never been there to make me?

60. Across Verdant Meadows

Though we may be distant
Our hearts intertwine
I marvel in your bliss,
You revel in mine
We count down the hours
'til we become one
Love blooming like flowers
All facing the sun
Across verdant meadows
We longingly stare
And wish on odd petals
That we could be there
Beside the one person
That means everything
The answer to lessons
Your true love can bring

61. Let's Pretend

Let's pretend there is a place

With wisdom at its core

Who says to all the human race

'You will not be ignored’

That welcomes all who've ever faced

The ache from being poor

Who need right now the smallest taste

Of wealth life has in store

So send your poor and huddled masses

Yearning to be free

Who all can join in public classes

Learning earnestly

Who find a shelter from the crassest

Tyrants ever seen

To seek our nation's greenest grass

From sea to shining sea

62. Just One Whisper

I just wanna be free

I just wanted to see

If I could be who I was

Meant to be

I just wanna be heard

Just the littlest word

Can I be listened to

Is that absurd?

I just wanna be heard

Just wanna be free

I just want to see

What I can be

I just wanna be you

I just wanna be true

I just wanna stand strong for all the

Things you do

I just wanna be fair

I just wanna be there

I just wanna be with you and to

Show I care

I just wanna be you

I just wanna be true

Be someone who knew

What a person should do

But sometimes people make mistakes

And things go wrong and stuff can break

But through it all the meaning kept

Is made of all the goodness left

And if we falter in defeat

We stand before the judgment seat

And hope that eye of history

Sees us as good as we could be

That we did not try to offend

That we still tried to make amends

With enemies as well as friends

As one last message we could send

That we have done our very best

We lost the war but passed the test

With hope that burned inside our chest

And took our bow then took our rest

As children, parents, elderly

We saw the path with clarity

And made the future that you see

With just one whisper, and a plea

I just wanna be me

I just wanna be free

I just wanna be who I once thought

I should be

I just wanna be heard

Each and every word

I just wanna be listened to

Is that absurd?

I just wanna be me

Just wanna be free

I just wanted to see

What I can be

I just wanna be you

I just wanna be true

I just wanna stand strong for all the

Things you do

I just wanna be fair

I just wanna be there

I just wanna be with you and to

Show I care

I just wanna be you

I just wanna be true

Be someone who knew

What a person should do

63. What Is Hypnosis?

What is hypnosis and how is it used?

Can it be helpful and is it abused?

Are there some hypnotists hurting your mind,

Taking your money and making you blind?

These are some questions enlightenment sees

Seeking to find both the cure and disease

If we can answer these questions with proof

We can refine a more accurate truth

We must be certain it's clearly defined

It is an alternate state of your mind

Wherein the body's controlled by the brain

Focusing elsewhere from bodily strains

So you achieve some societal gain

Money or power or lessening pain

I can start listing the ways it is used

Fanciful stories to fill up your pews

Internet videos tallying views

Twenty four hours of worldwide news

Divisions of Christians and Muslims and Jews

Crafted so whichever path that you choose

Still ends with others whose morals are loose

All so the viewers say What is the use?

This is just one of the ways to abuse

Hypnotized listeners seeking good news

Breaking them loose from those sharing their views

Never at peace, nor accepting a truce

Hypnotists often claim God's voice is theirs

He says that sometimes your cruelty's fair

Hatred is love and it shows that you care

For their salvation that they can be spared

Do not aggrandize the things that you claim

Truth should affect all the people the same

If you see somebody using God's name

They are a hypnotist building their fame

There are some hypnotists doing what's right,

Saving their subjects from more sleepless nights

Calming their fears and improving their sight

Seeing a path through existence's plight.

Here’s a hypnotic suggestion to use

When you have someone you love through and through

Tell them this phrase, and you must mean it, too:

“Please always know I'm believing in you.”

64. This, Too, Shall Pass

If life gets you down, and if life has been cruel

You can get mad at it, or play it cool

In either case, there's just one simple rule

Less like a weapon and more like a tool

Listen to teachers who have little class

Run with the runners who always come last

Toil with the gardeners who couldn't grow grass

Hearken the wisdom that these too shall pass

Know that no matter how hard it may be

Look to the future that only you see

Shackles will rust and that day you'll be free

Dipping your toes in the sands of the sea

Despite your old life that was kicking your ass

Despite all the time that was moving too fast

Despite your old job that was like eating glass

Take this to task, that this, too, shall pass

If all your trials still lead you to peace

All of your straining will soon be released

Worries will falter and sorrows will cease

All your starvation will end with a feast

If you are hungry, see it as a fast

If you feel boredom, you'll soon have a blast

If you feel tested, you'll soon feel passed

Know as a fact that these things, too, shall pass

65. Go Home

I wanna go home

I wanna go home

Don't wanna be here

Just leave me alone

I wanna go home

I wanna go home

Don't wanna be here

I’d rather be there

So leave me alone

I wanna go home

I wanna go home

I wanna be there

To sit on my throne

I wanna go home

I wanna go home

I wanna be there

Where I'm never scared

And never alone

66. Deep In My Heart

Although we just met, we must go separate ways

I wish it had lasted, I wish I could stay

We laughed and we worked and we planned and we played

But time marches on as our memories fade

But be not disheartened and be not dismayed

The forces that bound us have not gone away

And though our reunion's forever delayed

New friendship will find you as ours once was made

We come down like angels that heaven did send

We worked through our issues and made our amends

And through all we fought, as we often contend,

I'm proud to have known you and called you a friend

Through all you have shown me that I could depend

On others who see down which path I should wend

To heed all the wisdom acquaintances lend

Like seeds in a garden whose blooms we must tend

We may now be scattered and living apart

To find new beginnings, to make a new start

To build new inventions, create some new art

Or work for a pension from some oligarch

Or learning a trade so our actions are smart

To free us from fates where our future is dark

The binary options we choose from are stark

But nothing can fade you from deep in my heart

68. Life Was All Beauty

Time will fly fast and will never come back

So we should be careful we're on the right track

If we do not stand and correct our mistakes

The system we love will continue to break

Foundations of liberty's built on our backs

Foundations that lately are showing their cracks

Sinuous muscles with strength growing weak

Our future unaided without us is bleak

As families lose all their hope for the best

We gain only sorrow and permanent rest

Endless and endless, the suffering grows

Until we all watch as our culture implodes

But there is a cure that was tested and shown

Mere empathy, honesty, logic alone

Without these, our effort, our tireless lives

Grow hardened, illogical, riddled with lies

Like the lie I will tell as I'm placed in the dirt:

My life was all beauty, and none of it hurt

69. Just One More Day In The Caravan

Just one more day in the caravan

Seeking a safer land

But men in a rage

Will throw us in a cage

Just one more day in the caravan

My children were part of the caravan

They had to come along

Haven't seen them for years

And cementing my fears

My children, my family's forever gone

Just one more day in the caravan

Knowing there is a chance

Where we go will be cruel

But what else can we do?

Just one more day in the caravan

Just one more day in the barren land

Hoping to find a home

Where our bodies are free

From the wars and disease

Just one more day in the barren land

Just one more day to the promised land

Where we are safe and warm

We won't break any rules

As we go to good schools

To find a new way in the promised land

71. Dancing on the Sun

The stars are dancing up above

We're dancing down below

Our hearts have filled our lives with love

The finest we can know

With passion for our human rights

Of meaning, warmth and fun

Our future is so warm and bright

We're dancing on the sun

The lives we live are short and sweet

And filled with epic prose

Just like the heroes who unseat

Our enemies and foes

We rise to levels out of sight

To blend our souls as one

To build a future that's so bright

We're dancing on the sun
